K-lite Windows audio

Several solutions to solve audio distortion problem when playing mp3 files in Real.

The last version of K-Lite Codec Pack Mega (version 11.7.5) set by default LAV Filter as audio codec. ( click here to download it )

That is the source of the problem because in such version, LAV Filter, when playing mp3 files, does not calibrate itself correctly.

It uses output format 32 bits float: that is not correct for mp3 files.

2 different solutions:

Solution 1 (maintenance solution)

 - Uninstall K-Lite Codec Pack Mega 11.7.5 or previous version.

 - Then Install K-Lite Codec Pack Mega 11.7.5 ( click here to download it )

 - On the second page choose AC3Filter as « Preferred audio decoder »:

Be careful during the installation to not accept the installation of an additional tool that could affect the web browser’s user configuration:

 - Uncheck the three marks and click on Decline

Solution 2 (maintenance solution)

Considering K-Lite Codec Pack Mega 11.7.5 is installed with Audio LAV Filter.

Launch Codec Tweak Tool that comes with K-Lite Pack ( Start -> K-lite -> Codec Tweak Tool ).

Then select :

Uncheck all 24 and 32 bits formats and Apply.
