Get Upgrado to upgrade the firmware of your Elite trainers
Upgrado is the dedicated app that allows you to upgrade the firwmare of your Elite smart trainer.
Firmware is a set of instructions programmed to make up the OS of the hometrainer.
Firmware updates allow manufacturers to add enhanced features while improving performance and stability. Updates make the system more efficient, leading to overall increased performance. For this reason, installing them when available ensures that your software continues to run efficiently.
To update your Elite hometrainer’s firmware, you need to download the app on your smartphone or tablet. Upgrado is only available on mobile.
In addition to the updates, Upgrado also checks the availability of any other newer update.
How do I update my trainer’s firmware?
To upgrade to newer firmware versions, please follow these 4 easy steps:
- Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device;
- Launch Upgrado. The app will automatically detect nearby connected trainers.
- Click on your trainer name to search for new updates.
- Upgrade to the latest firmware release.
Updating the firmware is very easy: Upgrado will see your hometrainer among the available devices via its Bluetooth connection, notifying the availability of any new update.
After confirmation from the user, the app will finalize the update on the selected hometrainer right away.
Note: Interrupting the procedure incorrectly may cause irreparable damage to the roller
How do I download the Upgrado app?
Upgrado is available worldwide for all Android and iOS users on Google Play and in the App Store:
_ The connection with Upgrado is possible only if the device (smartphone / tablet) has the Bluetooth protocol, and the Bluetooth is the correct version. To verify this, refer to this article: Mobile device compatibility ( tablet / smartphone ) with ANT+ or Bluetooth Smart
_ The connection between Upgrado and the trainer uses Bluetooth protocol. Concerning Bluetooth characteristics, the connection between the software and the trainer is exclusively, so no other software is able to find the trainer during the research. The successful connection is notified on the electronic board by the lighting of the blue LED. Before starting the search for the upgraded trainer, check that the Blue LED on the electronic board is flashing, if the blue LED is on steady, then the roller is connected with a software / program / app / device and therefore Upgrado will not be able to connect to the roller. In this case, close them, switch off and on the trainer and retry the connection with Upgrado.
_ The procedure is necessary to verify any possible firmware updates. If the trainer already has the latest version, a message will appear at the end of the check notifying it is already updated.
_ Firmware updates may be available only for certain geographical areas
_ If the procedure is not successful:
- cut off power to the trainer
- close the Upgrado app
- start the Upgrado app again
- power on the trainer
- try again the whole procedure
- check that as soon as the update procedure has started, the blue LED starts flashing quickly, indicating that the procedure has correctly started.
