Smart Trainers with Misuro B+ sensor
this video is dedicated to those who want to connect their Elite Smart trainer (with Misuro B+ sensor) on Zwift
Detailed configuration guide:
For any questions regarding the use of the Zwift software, contact the official Zwift support available at this link: https://support.zwift.com/categories/getting-set-up-SJXnVwmDQ or on the new session HOT-TO https://zwift.com/eu/video/how-to-cycling
For the configuration of an Elite trainer, you need to pay attention to some important points:
- type of trainer ("Controllable roller" - "Smart" - "Classic trainer + speed / cadence sensor")
- trainer wireless protocols ("ANT +" and / or "Bluetooth Smart")
- protocols available on the device used ("ANT +" or "Bluetooth Smart", on PC / MAC or smartphone / tablet)
Type of trainer
The controllable trainers are those that can automatically vary the resistance based on the command sent to them by a software / app.
Among the ELITE Interactive trainers, we find (in alphabetical order):
Avanti, Drivo, Drivo II, Direto, Direto X, Direto XR, Direto XR-T, EVO, Intera, Justo, Justo 2, Qubo Digital Smart B+, Rampa, RealAxiom B+, RealTour B+, RealEmotion B+, RealTurboMuin B+, Suito, Suito-T, Tuo, Zumo
and the rollers Arion Digital Smart B+ e Nero.
These trainers are able to send all data to the software via the FE-C protocol.
The Smart trainers are those trainers able to send speed / cadence / power data through a sensor built into the roller itself, but are not able to change the resistance based on the training chosen in the app / software. These trainers will modify the resistance only on the basis of the cyclist's pedaling speed (trainer with fluid braking) or by acting on a multilevel shifter (magnetic trainer with shift level ).
Among the ELITE smart trainers we find all the fluid trainers: Kura, Turno, Fluid family, and all compatible with the Elite Misuro B + sensor.
The trainer's wireless protocols
The protocols used in the trainers for data transmission can be "ANT +" or "Bluetooth Smart". The Elite trainers mentioned above have both protocols, so it is necessary to verify that the device on which Zwift is installed has at least one of the two connectivity.
- In the case of mobile devices, check this article: Device Compatibility Check (Tablet / Smartphone) With ANT + O Bluetooth Smart
- In the case of PC / MAC, ANT connectivity is offered by the USB ANT key (ANT dongle driver on Windows system)
... and Bluetooth connectivity must be verified among the features of the device itself. It must have Bluetooth Smart 4.0
Source of data usable on Zwift
The power value can come from:
- a power sensor (ergometer) placed on the bike
- from the Misuro B + sensor (which sends a calculated power value based on the measured speed value)
- measured or calculated by the trainer ( Avanti, Drivo, Drivo II, Justo, Justo 2, Direto, Direto X, Direto XR, Direto XR-T, Suito, Suito-T, Rampa, Tuo, Qubo Digital Smart B+, Zumo, Intera, EVO, Nero , RealAxiom B+, RealTour B+, RealEmotion B+, RealTurboMuin B+, Arion Digital Smart B+ ).
The heart rate value can come from:
- a HeartRate belt
- a cardio sensor ( wristwatch with cardio sensor)
- the Bridge function for heart rate sensors of Justo, Justo 2 and Avanti trainer
The cadence value can come from:
- a cadence sensor positioned on the bike
- from the Misuro B + sensor (which sends a calculated cadence value based on the measured speed value)
- calcolated by the trainer ( Avanti, Drivo, Drivo II, Justo, Justo 2, Direto, Direto X, Direto XR, Direto XR-T, Suito, Suito-T, Rampa, Tuo, Qubo Digital Smart B+, Zumo, Intera, EVO, Nero , RealAxiom B+, RealTour B+, RealEmotion B+, RealTurboMuin B+, Arion Digital Smart B+ ).
Zwift configuration
The Zwift configuration page consists of 5 buttons, power, smart roller + speed sensor, cardio, cadence, controllable roller.
The possible configuration procedures are 3:
1 = Controllable trainers
2 = Trainers with Misuro B + sensor
3 = Speed / cadence sensor positioned on the bike
EXAMPLE 1:
Drivo II with serial 1982 - HeartRate band with serial 26835:
- click the POWER SOURCE button
- select the sensor with ELITE FE-C 1982 serial
- Redo all in the same way also for the CONTROLLABLE and CADENCE button, taking care to always select the ELITE FE-C 1982 value
- Click the HEART RATE button
- select the sensor with serial 26835 (this number depends on the serial number of your heart belt)
- Click on OK
FINAL RESULT (if the sensor is active the corresponding values for that on-screen sensor will appear)
EXAMPLE 2:
"Turbo Muin with Misuro B +" (with serial 29929) - "heart belt" (with serial 26835):
- Click on "POTENZA"
- select the power sensor with the serial 29929 (the power field and also the cadence will be filled in automatically, otherwise repeat the operation also for the cadence sensor)
- then select the heart rate with the serial 26835
FINAL RESULT (if the sensor is active the corresponding values for that on-screen sensor will appear)
EXAMPLE 3:
"Qubo Fluid with speed / cadence sensor on the bike" (with serial 101) - "heart belt" (with serial 26835):
- Click on "SPEED SENSOR"
- select the speed sensor with serial 101
- select the type of trainer from the list ( in this example we've selected "Qubo Fluid" home trainer, check this link to know which Elite home trainers are included in Zwift : Elite home trainers in Zwift list )
- select the hear rate belt with serial 26835
FINAL RESULT
